Specialized Assessment and Counseling Services, Inc. at Stone Fox Farm©
is a for-profit private practice developed to provide clinical services to youth
and their families, such as chemical dependency and counseling needs assessments, recovery groups,
mental health counseling, social skills development and insight awareness programs.
In addition to traditional mental health and chemical dependency programs, services at Stone Fox
Farm© include the use of horses. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
programs at Stone Fox Farm© include team development for
businesses (Blazing Trails©), insight awareness sessions for
residential programs (Cowboy Up at Stone Fox Farm!), recovery groups for youth (Soberspace),
professional development workshops for therapists and horse professionals wanting to learn how to
use equine assisted psychotherapy with their chemically dependent clients (Pass it On!).
Linda Myers, MA, CCDCIII-E, LPC, NCACI
is the owner and director of Specialized Assessment and Counseling Services, Inc. and has been in
private practice for more than 20 years. The first therapist in the State of Ohio to be certified
in equine assisted psychotherapy, Linda was also the first in the US to reach the Master, Level
III status in equine assisted psychotherapy. Linda is active in the field of equine
assisted psychotherapy, or EAP.
EAP in Ohio and in the NE sections of the United States is flourishing and in October of 2003,
a networking group of those who are trained through EAGALA and interested in promoting the use
of equine assisted psychotherapy was started. Information about the networking group can also
be found on the website.
